KDB, his partner and their dog are economic refugees who fled a housing crisis in Vancouver, British Columbia and landed in Edmonton, Alberta.
Here, KDB has found time and space to return to his craft and explore his passion for history. For close to 20 years his Dad's family was settled a few hours east of Edmonton. They were part of the wave of migrants who began to take land, and try their luck at homesteading, in the earliest parts of the 20th century.
Becoming aware of this history shapes his current passion for western Canadian and Alberta history. Especially as it relates to the problems of colonization for First Nations, and settlers; both in the past and in today's Canada.
